Baja Iboga Retreat

We offer a unique opportunity to experience the sacred wood iboga with Dimitri Mugianis, one of the most recognizable and experienced providers outside of Gabon, and Adriana Gonzalez, ceremonialist and yogini from Guerrero, Mexico. This retreat will be a focused plant medicine journey with the intention of healing and personal revolution.

A Bit of Background

Iboga is a master plant teacher from Africa, with profound healing and transformational properties. Originating from the rainforests of Central West Africa, it was first used by the Pygmies, or Forest People. Later the Pygmies shared their knowledge of the visionary & healing plant with neighboring groups, creating a spiritual and religious tradition called the Bwiti. Recognized for its use in treating addiction, Iboga also has a long history of ceremonial use, for initiations, rites of passage, celebration, and for healing ceremonies.

Dimitri has worked with the medicine for 15 years, and was the first ibogaine provider to become intiated into the Bwiti in 2006. He has since returned to Gabon seven times to deepen his study and for further initiations. In this retreat we draw upon some of these traditions, creating a unique blend of African, Western, and Mexican healing modalities. Using their combined years of study and expertise, as well as decades of experience working one on one with clients, Dimitri and Adriana are uniquely qualified to guide you through your journey using using both ancient and modern technologies.

The Ceremony

Friday we will begin with a medical screening by our doctor and nurse. Iboga can affect the heart rhythm, but we ensure safety by providing an EKG before the ceremony. We encourage you to get an EKG prior to arriving, as this will save you time once on site. Please note that our doctor must approve all EKG results. A doctor and nurse will be present throughout the entire ceremony. It's important to mention that these retreats are not for detox or treatment of addiction.

Dimitri and Adriana will hold the ceremonial container throughout the night, offering prayers, playing music, creating sound, and holding warm presence. We will have additional assistants lending support as well. The ceremony will take place outdoors, in our private and secure retreat space, accompanied by a central bonfire. You will receive the medicine on Friday night, and the journey may last between 4-8 hours.

Although there is never a guarantee of experience, Iboga has been described as a "reset," and a sense of being "awake in the dream." Its epigenetic properties have allowed many to reveal the source of past pain and trauma and heal ancestral wounds. Some have described a life review and cleansing and reordering of old patterns. You may or may not experience nausea. Recovery time ranges from immediate, with little after effects, and may last 24 hours, and on rare occasions, a bit longer. By morning you may be ready to eat simple foods, but perhaps not quite. We will accommodate you wherever you are on your journey.

Saturday/Sunday

Saturday will be a day of rest and contemplation, journaling and introspection. Three delicious and nourishing vegetarian/vegan meal will be served that day. After dinner we will celebrate with drumming and dance! Sunday morning we will rise for another tasty meal and begin our return to San Diego by noon.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

​ We are located approximately 45 minutes from San Diego in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. If you are driving, we will provide directions to our center or to our pick-up location south of San Diego. There are multiple options for parking your car in secured lots. Ground transportation is also provided from the San Diego International Airport. If you are unable to make the group transportation, we will arrange private transportation for you for an additional cost.

$1750 All inclusive.

This is an all-inclusive retreat, which includes accommodations in our spacious, communal room with great views. Private rooms are available for an additional fee of $75 per night (single fee, per room), and shared rooms are available for a fee of $50 per night (two beds.) Private & shared rooms are dependent on availability and are first come, first served.

A deposit of 50% of the total cost is due at the time of registration. The remaining balance must be paid in full before beginning the retreat.
